Der Photograph John Martin aus Cincinatti, Ohio, ist ein Meister des künstlerischen Understatements und der gestalterischen Reduktion. Er deutet das erotische Potential seiner Modelle mehr an, als es offensiv zu zeigen und entfaltet gerade durch diesen klugen Kunstgriff einen äußerst starken erotischen Moment in seinen Bildern. "I am a photographer and live in Cincinnati, Ohio. I have been a photographer here for about 12 years the last 8 as a professional. I have photographed darn near everything you can think of, and it never, ever gets boring or mundane. As I said, I live and work here in Cincinnati. I am supported in my career and life by my wonderful wife of almost 20 years. We have three great kids, that range in age from 12 to 17 years old. My two boys tend to be real hams when it comes to the camera, they will allow me to try new techniques and films or poses on them without to much hassle. On the other hand my girl and my wife shy away from the camera, although when my wife was younger she modeled for the local Sears and a couple other Department stores. She's as beautiful now as ever, she just doesn't think so. Women....there so ....I don't know vane I guess, they get a little older and think the world has thrown them a curve. She does support me and even when she finds time to, she'll help out. one day I hope to post some of the photo's I did of her a few months ago, she'll kill me if she finds out but, I have lived this long, so I'm sure I can make it a little longer. Back to my photography, even though I have shot lots of different types of photographs in the past I have come to find out that the artist in me loves the "Fine Arts of Photography" . I like to shoot Men and Women figure studies, the human form and it's never ending shapes intrigue me to know end. I will study the subject before hand and figure out what to enhance and what type of lighting I want to use to do it. Of course, this is not the way you pay your bills, so I do shoot commercial and some weddings too. I have tried to break into the modeling portfolio business without much success ....YET, but I will. Anyone who knows me will tell you that if I want to do it, I will. I get questions as to what kind of equipment I use and, trust me here, I have used it all. From 35mm to 8x10 studio cameras. I am still very partial to 35mm, although as digital becomes more prevalent and better, I will need to breakdown and go digital for my commercial shoots. I have been published several times and most, well actually all have been in either corporate magazines or newsletters. I taught a beginning photo class for several years and loved it, time has not permitted me to continue this adventure...and trust me it is an adventure..." |
